Golden Week in China:

中国目前有两个“黄金周”（原本是三个），也就是“大假”或“特长周末”，中国公民平均可以享受将近“七天”的长假
Chinese people currently have two so-call "golden weeks" (originally three), this term refers to a extended long weekend, which can span to a vacation of seven days normally.

春节大假（阴历新年），每年略有不同，大多在从一月底到二月中的某七天
Spring festival, with calendar dates varying from one year to the other because it is calculated via lunar calendar.  It normally falls on any seven day between end of January and mid-February

五一（五．一）黄金周：国际劳动节，每年五月一日 (现在只放一天假）
May 1st Golden Week: International Labor Day (it is currently with one day off only)

十一（十．一）黄金周：中国国庆节，每年十月一日，前后结合中秋或重阳节
October 1st Golden Week: Marking the birthday of PRC since 1949, combining Mid-autumn and Chong Yang Festival

黄金周经济：中国政府认为现在中国人民的消费能力能在黄金周内完全发挥。
Golden Week Boom:  Chinese government expect to see the consumers with great purchasing power may boost up the country's economy

Pressure from the Golden Week:  China's infrastructure, especially those in transportation, tourism and urban safety are still too primitive to undertake the heavy load generated by the Golden Week Boom.
