Exprssions with “不+verb”

Continuous, like 不斷/断

不休 as in 爭論/论不休(unceasingly debate)，喋喋不休 (chatter like a magpie)

不輟/辍 as in 堅持不輟 (with perseverance)

不絕 as in 源源不絕 (flow in an endless stream)， 滔滔不絕 (keeping up a constant flow of words)

不懈 as in 努力不懈 (work indefatigably)

 

Unbearably …/

不堪 (be too deplorable to) as in

雜亂/杂乱不堪(in unbearable confusion)，痛苦不堪 (in unbearable pain)

不堪一擊/击(collapse at the first blow)，

不堪設想(cannot be imagined; too dreadful to think of)

 

One should not

不容 (not allowing) as in

不容忽視 (not to be ignored)

不容否認/认 (not to be denied, undeniable)

不容爭辯 (irrefutable) (see short form in 不爭的事實/实)

刻不容緩 (too urgent to allow waiting)
